Course Description: Technician Training 101 – HALO Home Services Technician Training 101 is a comprehensive training program designed to equip new HALO Home Services technicians with the essential skills, knowledge, and best practices needed to provide top-tier pest control services. This course covers all critical aspects of the job, from safety protocols to treatment methods, ensuring that technicians can perform their duties effectively, safely, and in compliance with both company standards and state regulations, including Cal/OSHA guidelines. Course Modules Introduction to Pest Control and Termite Treatment Overview of pest control services and HALO's mission. Introduction to common pests, including drywood termites, subterranean termites, rodents, and more. Understanding different treatment methods: ADVANCE (Drywood Termite Treatment), BLOCKADE (Subterranean Termite Treatment), and FORTIFY 360 (Rodent Exclusion). Chemical Safety Proper handling, storage, and disposal of pesticides and chemicals, following Cal/OSHA standards. Safe use of Termidor SC, Timbor dust, and other industry-standard chemicals. Personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements and procedures to reduce exposure risks. Emergency response protocols for chemical spills or exposure. Ladder Safety Ladder selection, inspection, and proper setup techniques. Importance of maintaining three points of contact while climbing. Specific safety practices for working on unstable surfaces and using ladders in confined spaces. Cal/OSHA regulations regarding ladder use and best practices for preventing falls. Drill and Treat Method: ADVANCE Drywood Termite Treatment Step-by-step guide to identifying drywood termite infestations (e.g., field sheet designations like "2A" and "2B"). Using the 1/8-inch drill bit to create a diamond drill pattern and ensure product penetration into termite galleries. Techniques for discreet treatment, including rafter tails, fascia boards, and cantilevers.
