HALO ADVANCE (Non-Tenting) System
HALO'S ADVANCE Drywood Treatment System is a targeted approach specifically designed to eliminate termite activity in where they are and where they could be without requiring fumigation of the entire building. This method is ideal for addressing infestations strategically, surgically, using the latest in tech.
Here is a step-by-step process for implementing HALO'S ADVANCE Drywood Treatment System, incorporating data and guidelines from the University of California, Riverside:
Step 1: Consultation
-
The consultation is a 15 minute interview that helps the inspector understand your unique situation. During this time he/she will ask you about the history of the home, treatments, additions, etc. The consultation helps you and the inspector discover if ADVANCE is truly the right option for you and your home.
-
Having exclusive access to a State Licensed wood destroying organism inspector ,with an advanced knowledge of construction practices, gives you access to understanding all of the pros and cons about different types of treatments. Try to stump your HALO inspector if you can. At very least use him/her to understand your options. They are an incredible resource.
Step 2: Inspection
-
The Inspection: If ADVANCE seems like a good fit for you the inspector will need to do what is called a "Complete" inspection. This inspection should take between 60-90 minutes ( sometime longer) and will identify every area of Drywood termite infestation. Included in the complete inspection is also the search for subterranean termites, Formosan termites, wood boring beetles, carpenter ants, carpenter bees, fungus and dry rot.
-
The inspector will also identify conditions conducive to these problems such as earth to wood contact, faulty grades, excessive moisture. That is a complete wood destroying organism inspection.
Step 3: Planning the Treatment
-
Selecting the Appropriate Method: Based on the extent and location of the infestation, choose HALO'S ADVANCE Drywood Treatment System, which may include methods such as:
-
Direct Wood Injection: Injecting treatment directly into the infested wood.
-
Precision Prevention: Applying a precise preventative treatment to adjacent areas for long term control.
-
Advanced Dust Application: Using a specially formulated dust in voids and galleries rending the area off limits virtually forever.
-
Step 4: Monitor and Control
-
Wood destroying organisms are a maintenance problem. Neighbors and dead trees, up to 3 miles away, can contribute to ongoing issues in the future. Keeping a eye on the home every year is an important part of maintaining control so that wood destroying organisms don't have time to cause more damage.
